The warm waters of the Pacific Ocean that surround Samoa's islands offer a range of water sport activities, from reef surfing (for the real thrill seeker) to game fishing, diving, sea kayaking and snorkelling. For the land lover, have a picnic by a waterfall, hike to extinct volcanic craters or crater lakes, and explore the vast plantations of coconut, bananas and cocoa, taking in the aromas of Samoa 's vast and vibrant flora. Enjoy a trip to the volcanic crater or simply relax on a beach.
Swimming with the turtles is within walking distance from the resort. Island tours can be arranged from the office.
Activities available at Savaii Lagoon Resort
The Resort's complimentary activities:
Play Petanque (boules), use our dinghies or kayaks in our sheltered lagoon, walk, swim, snorkel or relax on our prestine beach with a book from our small library.
Demonstrations of daily village living when the numbers are sufficient - coconut husking, coconut cream making, basket making from a coconut palm, fire making.
Arrangements can be made for a Samoan meal to be cooked and shared with a local Samoan family in their home.
At present we are holding a fiafia night once a month or on special occasions.
Our fiafia night is a new addition to our entertainment. Enjoy a traditional umu served in the relaxing atmosphere of our "on the beach' restaurant followed by a traditional Samoan dance by our Samoan staff members including a spectacular fire dance.
Island Tours and nearby activities
There are full day and half day island tours which have a pickup and return arrangement. We would recommend the half day tour to the Blow Holes and the Waterfall.
The warm, crystal clear waters of our lagoon are safe for swimming and snorkeling. Our beach is absolutely stunning! You will not be disappointed. Snorkel from our beach to the Coral Gardens and experience the immense beauty of the coral and the varied sealife. You could be visited by a turtle during your dive or snorkel.
Based across the road is Dive Savaii PADI Dive shop, where you can complete PADI Dive Courses ( Beginners to Pro - Divemaster & Assistant Instructor) Certified divers are welcome on their daily dive trips. Snorkeling gear rental is available for use off the beach or on 'Dive Savaii' daily boat snorkeling tours (seasonal)
Why not explore the Island by bicycle or just relax on the beach with a good book. In the evening before dinner at our beach restaurant and bar, watch the sunset for which this area is renowned while you sip that pina colada or local Vailima beer.
A well maintained road circles the island making it possible to drive around in a day.
